Charter fishing onboard “Predator”
In most months of the year, you will have a variety of fish. I will be on hand to help and advice any novices on the best way to go about catching all the different species using different methods, baits and tactics which will apply on the day. I can customise the day to do whatever you wish. If your priority is one species of fish or just a general mixed bag just let me know.
About the boat and skipper.
Predator is a Blyth 10m x 5m wide catamaran, proven to be more stable at sea than other V type hulls. She is equipped with twin 280hp Iveco engines with a cruise speed at around 18 knots and a top speed of 28 knots. One of the fastest on the Norfolk and Suffolk Coast. She has cabin heaters for those cold days and an 8kva generator as well.
I’ve been sea fishing from a young age, I used to go out charter fishing years again with the good old Paul Dyble on this boat the Sea Quest, also jointed the local lifeboat and was a helmsman for the inshore rescue boat and the Broads boat. I have done my training with SEAFISH and RYA. Ending up with Seafish 16.5m GOLD unrestricted skippers’ ticket. I have been charter fishing off Great Yarmouth for many years.
The boat Predator is the best out there. As a fisherman as well, I know the little things us anglers like to see onboard a charter fishing vessel. From the latest safety gear, fish finders, radar, AIS, onboard 240v electric for faster kettles to boil and on deck toilet with a hot and cold water sink to keep those hands clean after you been dealing with bait and fish. Also, while we are travelling, anglers can sit inside our wheelhouse which is heated for those colder days and nice and dry in the rain.
Most days are about 8-10 hours. Longer trips can be arranged when booking. Because Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft is in a sheltered in a westly wind, we can usually find some sheltered water even if the wind blows.
These inshore waters can at times be very productive for bass, cod, whiting, smooth hounds and thornbacks.
Most fishing is at anchor, (Up tide / Down tide), and wrecking trips by special arrangement dependant on weather conditions. Rods and fishing equipment are supplied free of charge and bait can be supplied, any live bait ordered must be paid for in full and no refund can be given on any live bait ordered. We use the latest rods and reels from Akios and local guy who makes our traces.
For the novice we offer our usual free expert tuition with free rod hire and tackle options if required, and of course all the usual facilities you would expect from a top of the range charter boat. Early booking is advised, as this exciting fishing is very popular so ring the hotline for more details or email us today.
The Tope is one of the hardest fighting fish found in our waters of the North Sea the premier area in the UK for this species and record holder of eighty-two and a half pounds for this fish! With up to seventy pound not uncommon and fish to thirty-five pounds regularly caught, tackle and anglers are put to the ultimate test!
The fishing can be fast and furious and sometimes downright chaotic with runs and if you’re not careful break-ups from every side of the boat. If you would like to sample our form of Big Game Fishing, then June to mid-July is the best period with chances of a return fish in mid-August. The cost is a little more than our regular fishing trips as distances to steam are much more with approximately fifty-to-sixty-mile round trips.
I also do corporate days, which can include breakfast and a full day’s fishing with everything laid on for your convenience.
